Flourescent Light Suddenly Stops Working

Writers (unfairly) forgotten (1) Andre Maurois 1885-1967

Andre Maurois (Emile Herzog) is one of the writers of the twentieth century's most unfairly overlooked.
prolific novelist, biographer incomparable essayist in the most diverse fields, his work has delighted many readers from 1920 to 1960. Born in Normandy like his teacher, the philosopher Alain , it belongs to a family of industrialists who left Alsace after the war of 1870. It was a long time industry leader himself before devoting himself exclusively to literature, the success comes. His multifaceted talent exercised in every genre painting with humor English manners observed when he was liaison officer during the First World War. ( silence of Colonel Bramble, and the speeches of Dr. O 'Grady ). He also enjoys the fantastic fables that make it one of the first writers of science fiction in French weigher of souls and the machine to read the thoughts ed. Novelist, he analyzes brilliantly subtle and the intricacies of the human heart: the family circle; Instinct of happiness, and especially Climates , the latter work has ensured his fame.
Maurois's reputation is also based on vivid biographies. (For those that do try, I would strongly recommend its volume: aspects of the biography ). These are very numerous, are works harmoniously constructed scenes that bring the most striking of all existence. The art is exquisite, limpid style and are illustrated by the scruples of the investigation and the novelty of the documentation. Include: In search of Marcel Proust or Lelia the life of George Sand but Chateaubriand and my favorite Turgenev etc ...
Deep psychologist treated her very readable helped many readers in their daily lives: Speech command, Magicians and logicians, the beginning was the action, a lifestyle : a brilliant book in which he analyzes the art of love, the art of writing, the art of thinking , art work and provides valuable advice to the youth, as those who évadent it.

And thanks Climates Maurois as a novelist is universal, whose time of "purgatory" as I can not fail to be completed:

Climates : an acute analysis of the human heart, which dissects the psychology of love as a diptych. The first part is narrated by a man exposes the ins and outs of the forfeiture of his marriage. Gradually the woman he loves him escape ... In the second part is the female perspective on the reverse which is then discussed.
Maurois, with a dazzling style, succeeded in this novel to share with us the reasons for separation as seen by each of the protagonists: men and women.

Maurois is definitely an author to review. It must still find Climates in paperback. For other titles, so you can purchase on the Web or from booksellers, please do. You will not regret point.
Finally, a quote, not Maurois, but the philosopher Alain, highlighted by Climates:
"We always want to try the eternal anywhere but here, we always turn the gaze of the mind to anything but the present situation and this appearance, or we expect to die as if every moment was not to die and live again. Every moment a new life is offered to us. Today, now, immediately, is our only outlet "
So? You will not want to read and (re) discoveries this great writer?
